Google Right Side Ads Removed
February 25, 2016 9:23 am Published by adminGoogle Drops Organic Results Down a Spot
We anticipate organic search will be hit the hardest by this change. For many users who use smaller monitors, organic results are now pushed down below the fold instead of having the first organic result above of the fold.
From a user experience standpoint, the overall look and feel is cleaner with the removal of right side ads. Google has made desktop search look and act more like mobile search which helps standardize what people can expect to see when searching between devices. We expect that for some users the shift down of organic results may become frustrating.
Google continues to validate our bidding strategies as reflected in this most recent update. We are in the process of updating our bidding strategies as a result of this update in order to get a higher return on advertising spend. Stay tuned for future findings.
